Granite counters a worthy investment

I have white countertops in my kitchen. This means whenever something spills I run the risk of a stain. Though it is a nice countertop, it tends to hold on to red dye very easily. I can eventually get it out, but it often takes a lot of scrubbing for it to disappear. At one point, after my daughter had spilled Kool-Aid, I had to use Comet to get my countertop clean. I am beginning to wonder if granite counters would be a better alternative to what we have now. Having an up to date smoke alarm can save your life and the people closest to you

My daughter absolutely hates the sound of a smoke alarm. When she was a little over a year old, my husband burned some food while cooking and the smoke alarm went crazy, scaring her terribly. She screamed and screamed for almost 30 minutes. Ever since then, she is afraid to walk under it. The blinking light letting us know that it is there and ready to operate is something that she truly cannot stand.
